Shipping & Delivery

Once your freight leaves our facility, it usually takes 4-8 business days going standard ground service for the carrier to deliver.

Carriers typically deliver between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Carriers do not call before they deliver. Make sure you offer the phone number you can best be reached at just in case the driver runs into any problems so they can reach you immediately and get further instructions.

Do I need to be home when my packages arrive?

You do not need to be home when the freight arrives, however, receiving the packages in person and signing for the freight if it is in good order is always good practice if possible.

Deliveries will be made right to the door, porch or garage. Make sure you have a clear path for the truck and driver to manoeuver your package onto your property.

Deliveries made where a signature is not possible may be left in a safe place, out of sight and out of weather, at the driver's discretion. This could include the front porch, side door, back porch, garage area.

Most likely you will need to move each box to your building location. Boxes are heavy and awkward to handle. Please arrange to have another person assist you in moving each box.

How do I check for damages?

Upon receiving, be sure to check the address label and confirm that the shipment is truly intended for you. Count the parcels and make sure you received all packages included with your shipment. Walk around the packages, check for corner damages, dents, rips and most of all are all the staples and tape still secured tightly to the package. Turn the package over and repeat.

In case of damages, show the driver the issue and mark “damage” on the proof of delivery along with your signature. Take pictures, make notes and copy down the tracking numbers. If the delivery is made when you are not home, call Outdoor Living Today’s Customer Support Line @1-888-658-1658 and advise us immediately about the issue.

Most often, we can send replacement pieces out quickly once identified so you can complete your project in a reasonable time frame.
It is our policy to replace any broken or damaged pieces immediately and to your satisfaction if this notation is shown on the proof of delivery on the carrier’s copy.

Why Western Red Cedar Wood?

Western Red Cedar is a naturally stunning building material with deep, tonal properties that accentuate the richly textured wood grains and exposed heartwood.

For centuries, the Western Red Cedar has been celebrated by the Pacific Northwest Coast First Nations as the “Tree of Life” using it to build longhouses, canoes, and totem poles.

Red cedar’s reputation for being a naturally durable wood makes it perfect for all outdoor projects. The wood is lightweight and valued for its high natural resistance and decay properties.

It is less susceptible to moisture, insect damage, and fungi growth. Cedar is also water damage resistant and can successfully weather long periods of heavy rain and other weather extremes such as snow, hail, and strong winds.

With its unsurpassed natural beauty, centuries of proven performance, low environmental impact, and natural resistance to decay/insects it’s clear to see the advantage of quality Western Red Cedar.

What Is Lift-Gate Delivery

For a Liftgate Delivery:

When you have requested a liftgate delivery:

Our driver will transport your pallet to the rear of the truck, where they will gently position it onto the liftgate. Subsequently, the pallet will be gradually lowered to the ground, positioning it beside the truck.

Feel free to utilize the plastic shipping tarp provided to shield and safeguard your items until you're prepared to embark on your project. Once you've completed its initial purpose, consider repurposing it!

In the event of a liftgate delivery, take a moment to slice through the straps and remove the tarp. Ensure you inspect the pallet for any potential damage to its corners, the presence of wood chips, sharp cuts, or gouges on the product, and verify the integrity of the pallet itself.

For Hand Offload Only:

If you haven't opted for a liftgate delivery, you'll be required to hand offload the items. Here's what to expect:

Our driver will transport your pallet to the back of the truck, where they will cut the straps and hand the individual pieces to you. Typically, each piece weighs no more than 30-50 lbs.

Please be aware that there is a time limit of 15-20 minutes for this free service, so it's advisable to have someone available to assist you. When hand offloading, it's recommended to conduct a brief check of all the pieces as they are handed to you.

Is Shipping Included?

We ship to serviceable areas in the continental US & Canada, not Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands. In any other areas including Hawaii and Alaska, we can ship to a freight forwarder located on the mainland of the US.

Our freight partners generally describe a serviceable area as anywhere accessible by a large freight truck or where roads are regularly maintained and items can be delivered safely. This broad definition applies to most urban and non-urban places.

Areas not considered serviceable are exceptionally rural areas that are not safely accessible by a large truck. If you have concerns that this may be applicable to you, then you can also have your items shipped to the freight terminal and pick them up yourself.

Please feel free to give us a call at 1 888-658-1658, and we will be glad to assist you with any other questions you may have about this.

Our products ship quickly in 1-3 weeks!
