How to Determine Coverage
1. Calculate the size of wall area you are trying to cover in square feet
2. Deduct window and door areas from coverage
3. Each box will cover 25 sq ft at 7 1/2" for wall exposure.

How to Determine the Number of Courses

1. Measure the height at the lowest part of the wall to the top of the wall
2. Divide the height into equal parts, corresponding closely to exposure recommended. Do not exceed 7 1/2" when using for exterior wall construction
3. Butt lines should align with tops or bottoms of windows or other openings
4. Allow 1/8" to 1/4" keyways or gaps between shingles. These joints allow for expansion and will prevent possible buckling.

For best appearance, the exposure of the final course at the top should match those below.
